Overview of Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Acupuncture and Dry Needling are two distinct but related techniques used in the field of alternative medicine. Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points ( called meridians) on the body to stimulate energy flow and promote healing. Dry Needling, on the other hand, needles are inseted on tender or trigger points ( not necessarity acupuncture points) in muscle and connective tissue to alleviate pain and improve mobility. In Dry Needling, you do not need to learn about the meridians. However combing Acuounture and Dry Needling greatly enhances your 'clinical tool box'.

NB: The acupuncture needles are used in dry needling. They are available in different sizes. They are for single-use only

Both techniques have been used for centuries and have gained popularity even in Western medicine in recent years.

In this module, we will combine Acupuncture and Dry Needling approaches. You will learn how these techniques can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, from chronic pain to sports injuries. By the end of this module, you will have a solid understanding of the foundations of Acupuncture and Dry Needling and be prepared to apply these techniques in a clinical setting.
